With its sprawling 5 acres of stunning gardens and grounds, Mountain River flowing along the lower boundary, rare botanicals and old-world trees, Clifton Homestead is the perfect choice for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and indulge in peaceful surroundings, while enjoying easy access to the Huon Valley’s major attractions, eateries, and wineries.
Our unique blend of country luxe and comfort is reflected in each of our six guestrooms – four within the homestead and two separate cottages in the grounds – all retaining their original charm and character with modern-day touches and comforts. Each room features special pieces collected from many countries over a lifetime, with influences from around the globe. Some of these items have their own stories, so feel free to ask us about any that you particularly like and we’ll gladly share more. For this reason, our accommodation is only suitable for children 13 years and over.

The Drawing Room is the most impressive room in the home, showcasing grandeur and elegance that will transport you back in time. Adorned with special artefacts collected by owners Carolyn and Graeme on their many global adventures, this room is sure to captivate your attention. Feel free to ask us about a particular piece, as most have interesting stories to accompany them.
The sunrooms are sun-soaked atriums area filled with greenery, making them an ideal spot to enjoy either the morning or afternoon sun while catching up on your reading.
Lastly, the Communal Dining Room is adorned with stunning indigenous art that adds to the room’s unique atmosphere. This space is perfect for guests who prefer a shared dining experience, where they can come together with fellow wanderers, make new friends, and share stories over a delicious meal.
