There are a range of full day, half day and family tour options to enjoy. Travel the protected waters of the Lune River and Hastings Bay as you paddle to the ocean at Southport. Journey around the beautiful islands in Port Esperance Bay. Learn about the rich history of Recherche Bay. Or explore the scenic Huon River from the historic town of Franklin. All the tours are small intimate groups allowing your local guide to cater to your individual needs.
Port Esperance Bay Tour
A 3-hour kayaking tour that departs from Dover beach and around the three islands Hope, Faith and Charity. Includes tasty morning tea on the islands and lunch back at Dover on return at 12pm. You can take in the view of the Hartz Moutnain Range, Dover township and surrounds and learn about the history of the old convict probation station on Hope Island.
Lune River Tour
Available as a morning or afternoon sunset tours. The morning tour includes morning tea and lunch and takes 4 hours for which you paddle through the protected waters of the Lune River out to the Ocean. You will journey downstream looking for birds and learning about the history of the area before arriving at the white sandy beaches at Southport. The twilight tour is 3 hours and includes a tasting platter on the beach.
Huon River Tour
Take a tranquil 3 hour journey on the tannin-rich waters of the Huon River. Leaving from Franklin and taking a gentle pace around South Egg Island and Canal. Take in some of the best scenery the Huon Valley has to offer. Learn about the history of the valley and the importance of the Huon River in its development. Includes morning tea on the river and returns to Franklin for a lunch and cider tasting at Franks Ciderhouse and Cafe.
Recherche Bay kayaking tour
A full day (6 hours) to soak in the magical setting of Recherche Bay and the D’entrecasteaux River. Learn about the early French explorers, early convicts, whalers and settlers. Includes morning tea and lunch. Departs Ida Bay.
No previous experience is required to enjoy a protected, flatwater journey as you learn about the local wildlife and the rich history of the area. Treasure Hunter Tour
Are you a Treasure Hunter?
Become a pirate for a day and explore for treasure your very own deserted island on our family Treasure Hunter Tour.
Meeting at the remote scenic beach at the River Mouth in Southport, this 2 ½ hour tour gives kids the opportunity to paddle their own kayak to their own island, grab a treasure map and hunt for treasure. Children as young as 7 yrs can paddle their own kayak, with younger children paddling with an adult in a double kayak. After a short 30 min paddle to the island kids are given their own treasure map and clues to find the treasure. After a tasty morning tea together, we return to the river mouth beach.
The tours are run as private bookings and operate with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6. At least one adult must accompany the group, so a maximum of 5 kids and 1 Adult.
The Treasure Hunter Tour is available between the months of December and May. Our other tours are available for Children 10+yrs and operate between October and June.
