Bakehouse Distillery
A passage via the D’Entrecasteaux Channel or a 90 min. drive south of Hobart beyond the Huon Valley, will take you to Port Esperance and the adjoining town of Dover, lyluequonny country.
Here will find the Bakehouse Distillery just off the A6 Highway, from where a unique small batch hand-crafted brand of botanical spirit captures the essence of this part of country.
The distillery owes its name to the current residence and associated out buildings that have served the region as a bakery since the 1920’s. Today this tradition continues but at a smaller scale baking to order, mostly for the local community and mainly sourdough breads, baked in a wood fired oven. The distillery is built around a home business model with tours, tastings and purchases which take place in a well-established garden setting in the centre of town. Open times are as shown below or otherwise by prior appointment (Phone +61409 981 062), suited for small groups generally no more than twelve persons. Direct purchases from our cellar door attract a 17% discount on our shipped price.
