Cygnet Singers

Cygnet Singers is an ANCA-affiliated, non-auditioned SATB choir of approximately 50 voices, based in the town of Cygnet in Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Cygnet Singers was formed in 1984 and has maintained an uninterrupted schedule of rehearsals and performances ever since. In that time, we have performed both small and medium scale works representing a broad range of styles and musical periods. We have an established tradition of joining forces with other musical groups, both choral and instrumental, to bring our audiences the widest possible variety of musical experiences.

Our current repertoire is of small-scale works, essentially songs and carols. We sing in several languages (for example Hebrew, Italian, Welsh, Latin) and our repertoire ranges through time from the 16th century to the present day. Our program draws from church music, art song, folk song and musical theatre.

We present public performances at regular intervals as well as singing at community events such as Relay for Life, Seniors Day and the Australia Day Awards Ceremony.

For further information please call, e-mail, visit the website or get in touch with the Musical Director Di O’Toole (0400 551 174).

The group meets for rehearsal at 7:15pm – 9:00pm on Mondays at the Cygnet Sports Centre (19 Louisa Street, Cygnet).
