Huon Valley Theatre

Huon Valley Theatre Inc. is a community not-for-profit theatre company, formed in 1988 and based at the Huonville Town Hall. The company is self-supporting, relying on community support of its activities for funding and talent, as well as the occasional grant for improvements to the theatre infrastructure at the Town Hall.

Though its focus is on theatrical productions, HVT also involves itself in many other performance-related activities, such as variety nights, concerts, talent quests and more.

It has successfully staged major and popular productions such as “The Sound of Music”, “My Fair Lady”, “The Wizard of Oz” and “Oliver!”,  as well as more challenging dramas, comedies, and of, course, pantomimes.  Huon Valley Theatre is keenly interested in providing opportunities for the talented youngsters in the Valley, and has staged many children’s productions and runs a monthly youth drama club.

HVT encourages community involvement and local talent features in all aspects of theatrical production.

HVT welcomes volunteers to assist with lighting, audio-visual, makeup, costumes, properties and backstage crew.
