Community Landcare is a unique movement in which individuals and groups work together to improve the health of our natural and working landscapes. Community Landcare’s approach to environment and sustainability issues is ‘bottom up’, with the community taking ownership of the problem and being actively involved in the solutions.
Landcare Tasmania are the peak body for the community Landcare movement in Tasmania. They build resilience and capacity to protect, restore, and manage Tasmania’s landscapes by connecting, supporting, and educating the community. They have over 300 members groups plus individuals who work on projects in their area to improve the health of our natural and working environments.
The work of their members includes eradicating invasive weeds, revegetating bushland, managing farms to improve sustainability, controlling erosion, cleaning up beaches and much more.
