Mount Misery Track

Beginning from the impressive tall tree rainforest above the Huon Bush Retreats in Ranelagh, the 8.6km return Mount Misery Track climbs 280m through dry sclerophyll forest before reaching Mount Misery’s lovely sub-alpine heathland plateau and ‘Flat Rock’. From here you can enjoy spectacular 360 degree views towards Bruny Island and the Southwest World Heritage area. From Flat Rock it is a further three quarters of an hour along the plateau to the top of Mount Misery.

This track zig zags through the sometimes steep terrain. Most people with a moderate level of fitness will complete this walk in around 3-4 hours including breaks.

The Mount Misery Track is a privately maintained track located within the Huon Bush Retreats. Visitors are welcome and asked to please donate. Any donations received go towards maintaining the track.
