Quarry Reserve Track in Randalls Bay

A walk leads through a revegetated quarry and river gravel with coastal heathland, silver peppermints and black gum habitat. An option is a short loop around a central pond.

Once you approach the end of the track, there is also an option of returning via a loop track in the Quarry. Or via the Mickeys Beach track.

 

This track is maintained by Friends of Randalls Bay (FORB).

Getting There:

From Cygnet take the Channel Highway south (B68 – turn left at the roundabout). Stay on B68 until Randalls Bay Road. Turn right, drive down the hill and park at Randalls Bay Beach picnic area.

The Quarry Reserve track is marked on google maps as an old quarry access road. There are teal “Land for Wildlife” signs at each end of the track. Starting point of the track is from Randalls Bay Road as you come down hill, the green conservation sign and dogs on lead sign are on your right, proceed to the parking at the BBQ area and walk back.

You can also access this track, same signage coming from Eggs and Bacon Bay, signage on the left.

No vehicle access – park at the Randalls Bay BBQ

Plan Ahead:

Tasmania’s remote areas are beautiful however weather and track conditions can change suddenly. Mobile reception in many of these areas can be limited or non existent. These tracks are not Council owned or maintained.

Be prepared for the walk or activity. Plan ahead, bring enough water, check the alerts, and make sure you are comfortable with the difficulty rating.
