The Jetty House

Stepping into old house on the bay in Southport feels like stepping into another time. Not only the ubiquitous use of timbers that have all but vanished from the landscape, but also the scale of construction and the working house feel. The rooms are spacious and simple and there are a lot to choose from. There are 12 separate beds in 9 rooms, 3 living areas, 3 bathrooms and wide verandas all round. The house is set in gardens and Southport Bay is reached by a short stroll across the lawn.

The Jetty House is the perfect place to go with your extended family or a group of friends to relax and catch up away from everyday life. You can prepare your own feasts and enjoy them around the huge hand crafted myrtle table next to a crackling fire. Southport is well-placed for exploring Tasmania’s beautiful Far South with it’s white sandy beaches, mountains, forests, rivers and caverns and it is only 90minutes scenic drive from Hobart and all it has to offer.
